Trans Fat And The Bay Area Auto Loan

What do the residents of Oakland, CA think of their Governor’s proposal? The Governor of California wants to ban use of trans fat at restaurants in his state. Could such a ban have any effect on car buyers who might want to use a Bay Area auto loan?

The Blue Sky Biofuels Company in Oakland has recently partnered with the City’s Clean Air for Kids Campaign. As one-half of that partnership, the Company has agreed to reduce the cost for collection of leftover grease from the kitchens in local restaurants.

Now that Company could choose to advertise their partnership by investing in a car wrap. The Company might want to pay for a wrap on a car that had been purchased with a Bay Area auto loan. That wrap might praise the quality of the biodiesel fuels produced by Blue Sky Biofuels.

Suppose though that a ban on trans fat were to alter the quality of the Company’s biodiesel fuel. That could create problems for the company in two ways. First, it would force them to make some changes in the statements that appeared in their ads. Secondly, it would reduce the quality of the biodiesel fuel that the City of Oakland plans to use in its school buses.

That fact underlines the reason for introduction of this question: What do the residents of Oakland, CA think of their Governor’s proposal?
